Jumps, risks, and technique

Jumping in canyoning is an exciting but risky activity. Always inspect the landing pool to ensure safety before jumping. No jump is mandatory, and it’s advisable to avoid jumping with a backpack. The jump should be approached by analyzing risks at each stage, including checking the pool depth and removing obstacles. Takeoff should be done with one foot for balance, and in the air, keep the body positioned for smooth landing: arms outstretched, legs slightly bent, and head up. Upon landing, absorb the shock by keeping the body tense, crossing arms over the chest, and slightly bending the legs. For jumps over 8m, ensure proper technique to reduce injury risk.
